Recent news reports have highlighted troubling events at the Montreal Sacré-Coeur Hospital. According to the CEO of the Foundation, Ms. Julie Pouliot, these reports do not reflect the excellent work carried out every day by the nearly 4,000 employees of the hospital.
It is clear that such situations should never occur in a healthcare setting. In light of the report published last August by the Québec Ombudsman, it is not surprising that the Hospital is now under closer scrutiny from journalists and the media.
"We are deeply moved by the testimonies that have been shared. Behind every case, there are people, families, and emotions. And it is precisely for them that we exist," emphasizes Ms. Pouliot.
Our Foundation, whose mission is to support patients, their loved ones, and medical teams by funding projects that concretely improve care and living environments in the three hospitals it supports — including the Sacré-Coeur Hospital — plays a key role in the continuous improvement of healthcare. Guided by values of dignity, compassion, and humanity, the Foundation has been able, thanks to the generosity of its donors and partners, to invest more than $100 million in nearly 50 years.
We would like to assure everyone that every donation is invested with rigor and transparency in projects that make a real difference. The Foundation’s team and board members place their trust in the management of the Sacré-Coeur Hospital, who are committed to addressing the concerns of the Québec Ombudsman, and therefore those of patients and their loved ones.
For our Foundation’s CEO, the trust of donors is invaluable. It allows us to build, day after day, a hospital that is safer, more humane, and more attentive to the needs of everyone.
