We are very pleased to announce that a sum of $70,845 from Opération Enfant Soleil and an investment of $59,155 from the Foundation will be used to finance the purchase of a transport incubator, commonly known as a neonatal stretcher system and all the equipment attached to it.
This new equipment will have a real impact for the nursing staff of the Mother-Child Unit of our hospital and especially for new mothers whose newborn needs more specialized neonatal care. Thanks to this transport system, the journey between a tertiary center such as CHU Sainte-Justine or a birthing center to a center like Sacré-Coeur, when required, can be done by our teams in complete safety. Some 2,500 births are recorded annually at the Montreal Sacré-Coeur Hospital.
For more information regarding this project, we invite you to consult our Instagram page to see the video produced with the nurse and head of the unit - clinical component, Geneviève Larochelle.
Thank you to Opération Enfant Soleil and our donors for allowing the Mother-Child Unit teams to be able to care in the best possible conditions so that our children can grow up healthy!
