AUTUMN 2018
Over the course of time, some health care units have been renovated to improve work function and organization. One unit which has not been renovated is the Spinal Cord Injury Clinic, a critical service given the designation of Sacré-Cœur hospital as a Centre of Expertise in spinal cord injuries for Western Quebec. This project consists of revamping the ventilation systems, installing dedicated equipment and rebuilding the nursing station.

Enhance the comfort and rehalbilitation of spinal cord injury patients
PATIENT BENEFITS
- Rooms that are twice as large and air-conditioned
- Wall-mounted access to medical gases in each room, to eliminate the need for portable oxygen tanks and improve patient safety
- A lift apparatus above each bed to facilitate patient transfers
- Creation of a rehabilitation satellite unit to promote faster healing
WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE
- Add 7 beds to the unit (for a total of 19)
- Renovate the nursing station
- Update the installations
- Create a welcoming family area
