Research And Teaching

GOAL

$5 MILLION

Montreal’s Sacré-Cœur Hospital has a duty to fulfill its university mission through research and teaching activities. Each year, the hospital welcomes about 4,600 students in the health field (66% at the university level) so that they can carry out their clinical stages, an important component of their academic curriculum. This figure is roughly equivalent to the student enrolment of an entire CEGEP!

With its two hospital simulation laboratories and 23 training areas that allow for a total of 175,000 hours of supervision, the TEACHING SERVICE contributes to the training of tomorrow’s professionals and to the refinement of today’s..

As for the hospital’s RESEARCH CENTRE, it ranks among Canada’s top 40 institutions with more than $16 million in annual funding and nearly 600 active projects. Our 340 pioneering researchers lead the nation and have an international scope. Our three areas of interest are trauma and acute care, chronic diseases (cardiology, pulmonology), and neurophysiology.
